In his lifetime, that strange creative genius, Ambrose Bierce, published approximately 800 pieces of verse. Much of it is typically Biercean satire involving many who where once celebrities on the West Coast, but who are now nonentities except to the specialist in California history and literature. But a modicum remains of real poetry-compact, powerful, and-quite unexpectedly tender with a tenderness not usually associated with "the Devil's Lexicographer."

Book is in fine condition in a fine dust jacket. This copy is signed by the illustrator Frank Villano.  Limited to only 1,000 copies.
