From the publisher:

The last edition of The Hekataeon sold out in three weeks, and it has remained in high demand ever since. Due to hundreds of requests, Grayle Press is now re-issuing this popular grimoire in a formidable, altar-worthy volume that contains a complete self-initiation into the mysteries of Hekate. It includes Jack Grayle’s hymns, prayers, invocations, incantations, scripts, and initiatory rites from previous editions, as well as three new, never-before-seen workings written by Jack including one for reconnecting with Hekate after a lapse in praxis, and another for creating a wand to transform the mundane to the magical.  It also contains a brand-new illustration by occult artist Rowan E. Cassidy, full-color photos (and three new ones), and a beautiful new cover design.

The Hekataeon is remarkable grimoire presenting a complete system of self-initiation into the mysteries of Hekate, the Maiden-Serpent-Wolf who stands at the crux of the crossroads of all realms and realities. As such, it presents dozens of rituals, rites, spells, songs, scripts and sorcerous workings to ally oneself with the Lady of the Crossroads herself, as well as the witch-queens of late antiquity which embody her current of chthonic magic, to include Medea, Kirke, and Pasiphae. It also contains hymns to win the blessing of goddesses and gods such as Artemis, Selene, Persephone, Apollo, Helios, Hermes and Dionysus. Within its pages are consecrations for tools of art, by invoking powerful daimons such as Kerberos, Orpheus, the Fates, the Furies, and the Greco-Egyptian underworld spirit

The Hekataeon - Medea (green) edition. I’m so happy to have an Hekataeon in my collection! It arrived auspiciously just as I was finishing up the final videos and readings of Jack’s online class “Hail Hekate: Walking the Forked Path.” Whereas the class is based solidly within traditional ancient and classical texts and practices, the book reflects a much more individuated system based in archaic practices but very much developed by the author himself, through personal praxis and gnosis. The Hekataeon is written in such a way as to guide the reader/ practitioner through cyclically-ascending levels of encounter with the Goddess Hekate that result in full self-initiation into a particular strain of Her mysteries. Being somewhat more DIY (anarchic?) in my practice, I don’t personally plan to follow this path strictly to the letter. But I have had powerful results already from the first group of workings alone, and plan to continue with further reading and experimentation. Others have commented on the quality of construction so I will too- the spine is such that bending it obscenely would cause creasing or damage, The only other new hardcover in my library with which to compare this one is Christopher Faraone’s Greek/ Roman Amulets book from U of Penn’s press. That’s a much bigger publisher with much bigger budgets and their spine seems similar to this one, if that’s any help. That said, my copy shows no signs of wear or damage- the stamping on the cover is stunning and the printing and artwork within the pages do great justice to the content. I’ve heard from people who own other editions that this one is much larger and weightier. Indeed I would not take this into the woods or to the beach, not only due to its size but for fear of damaging the superbly rendered cover or pages. It’s working great in my workshop/ temple space, and I plan to scan or hand copy any content I need to bring with me into the wild. This is a gorgeous book; as someone on a tight budget who is normally strictly faithful to paperbacks and pulp editions, I’m very satisfied with my purchase. -Jason, Ecstatic Agendas

As someone who has taken Jack Grayle’s Hail Hekate course, as well as owning a previous edition of the book with the smaller original cover design, as well as having read the gambit of Hekatean books - I can say that this book is beyond compare. The contents are a mixture of ancient PGM style magick, mixed with personal praxis and revelations that are more then enough to sate any would be devotees hunger for years to come. It is a journey that can take each devotee as long as it takes them, and it will transform and change you within and without. The binding on this book is absolutely gorgeous, and up to par with use. The artwork and new content are gorgeous, and well done, and I much appreciate the corrections to some of the epithets from previous editions. From beginning to ending, this tome is more then worth the cost (small prints always cost more), and I would advise anyone who buys a copy to look up how to open a new book to avoid any of the problems mentioned by some. It is a gorgeous book that is an offering In and of itself, even before considering the contents. The Tools and allies one creates and meets along this Forked Path, can lead one down many different paths, for no two walkers ever walk the path the same way - and can lead one to paths of magick and devotion that otherwise may not have been found elsewhere. Rather then try to fit Hekate and the PGM style workings into more modern modes of practice, this grimoire reaches back to those ways that likely are closer to what was done in the far past, those modes that informed and inspired those more modern paths (which are of no less value). The style of working is not the regular ways of casting a circle, invoking the four elements and directions, but instead show a creativity and inspiration of praxis that is little found in other works. Bringing the old, and making it workable in modern times and places. You will be Invoking ancient beasts, mysterious Daimons, ancient Gods and Queens - you will have your perceptions challenged, your mind opened and your soul polished. This book was exactly what my own soul was searching for and seeking. The conflations of Hekate with other deities really enriches one’s understanding of not only The Black Queen but also the times and thoughts of those who lived and practiced around the time of her ancient worship. From Hekate-Selene, to Hekahermes, to HekAnubis, it’s a journey into the endless, infinitely faceted divinity and magick that She-Who-Is-Liminality embodies. I thank the author for the gift he has given to us through this work, and to She who inspired it! Hail Hekate!

  1. This book lives up to it’s name, it feels far more substantial than most other grimoires out there. But most of all you can feel a genuine love coming from this tome. Just reading from it compels you to action. The only criticism I have is the choice of paper. Yes it’s a durable type typical of textbooks, but it’s too plasticy for me tastes. Still, worth the price as it’s just a joy to spend time with

  2. This book is beyond my expectation. This is a true grimoire. It does the one thing that most occult books don’t do that we all want them to do. It gives complete working instructions and ritual after ritual after ritual. The conjurations shake the spirit. Advanced in-depth rituals that will not disappoint. This is the epitome of a “working book”. The spine on my book was damaged upon delivery. Miskatonic had another copy on the way the next morning. Superb information, superb customer service. I’d give it 13 stars if I could.

  3. This is one of the most beautifully written books I have ever had the pleasure of owning. Everything about it is wonderful, the quality of the book, the gorgeous artwork throughout and above all the contents, you can tell in every word that it was written as an act of devotion, it’s absolutely lovely.
