The many faces of Cyprian are revealed to us here in this intriguing tale of the ancient Pagan turned Christian mage. Cyprian is the crossroad, the “formae nativae”, the intermediary between flesh and spirit.
Whether it be a mirror of electrum, or a black grimoire, the gifts presented to those willing to partake in its magic are infused with the very spirit of Cyprian himself, who is willing to provide all of the necessary abundance or equally opposite destruction manifested from the initial intention of those who interact with it.
On a side note, aesthetically, this book was such a pleasure to hold and read. I found myself continuously pausing to admire the craftsmanship. The mysterious portrait of the saint adorning the front cover, the thick beveled boards, marble endpapers, quality of the text block, all so perfectly brought together to embody the magic of Cyprian in the physical form.
