A relatively very short book. However that does not discount it from having a profound perspective shift within. This text resonated with me as "true" in a way I always felt about Goetic magick and unlocked a lot of ideas and self-imposed impediments.
I am not a Chaos Magician, but I do feel in my own practice that the majority of the trappings of Ceremonial Magick is laden with too much stock that potency lies in the tools and old ritual construction.
This book will give the foundation to anyone approaching the Goetia to actually start now. For those of the persuasion of focusing on practical results and not wanting a PHD in the historical lineage before starting their first attempt.
The book is not without it's cons in my opinion:
• the writing style is distinct and might not be to some's taste
• No small amount of the already short text is dedicated to frequent asides to disparage Christianity. If you're reading this book already, that in principle probably will not offend you, but it just takes up too much of the word count.
• again I mention the length. Really this is more an essay than a book in my estimation. That being said the potential profound perspective shifts may more than make up for that for some (such as myself), but I reiterate this here for those who want more book heft for their dollar.
