A harrowing and intensely personal journey, Holy Daimon breaks down into three parts: History, Memory and Practice.
Author Frater Acher begins by introducing the reader to the history of daemonic beliefs among the Chaldeans, the Zoroastrians and the Ancient Greeks. This leads to the heart of the book, a vivid retelling of Acher's month-long Saturn Exerzitium as reprinted from his own magical diary. Here, laid bare, is his communication with Saturn in direct, honest and uncompromising language. A departure from the magical squares working of the Abramelin ritual, part three continues with praxis in obtaining and retaining systasis with your holy daimon with the aid of a ritual from the Greek Magical Papyri.
The quality of this paperback from Scarlet Imprint's Bibliothèque Rouge is of the highest grade and highlights the typesetting prowess of Alkistis Dimech while faithfully reproducing the atmospheric black-and-white photography (presumably the author's own) to give the entire presentation a unique hybrid between cinematic and documentary/scholarly treatment. Highly recommended.
